PSO is an artist of Mexican origin, based in Berlin, Germany. He holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) of UNAM, Mexico, and studied French Civilization and Art History at the Sorbonne University, Paris, France.
For more than 20 years he has devoted himself to painting professionally, and his work has been exhibited in some of the most important museums in Mexico. Among the outstanding exhibits: Cosmos, a reflection on the sense of emptiness in the creative act, Museo Universitario del Chopo in Mexico City, Persistence of time, based on the re-signification of pre-Hispanic symbols, at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Oaxaca, MX, and the nomination in the XVI Rufino Tamayo Biennial, Rufino Tamayo International Museum, MX.
His work has oscillated between realistic oil painting and an abstract painting of a more experimental nature, in which, from working with spatulas, he has developed a personal technique that gives to his work a character of erosion and overlapping layers. His current work is focused on the development of a series linked to lines and rhythms in composition, as a window to interior sound spaces that allow the artist a reflection on the meaning of the interior image.
In addition to his work as a painter and under the heteronym Paul Lakatos, he has ventured into the world of photography, music, and video, and is currently working on the production of his first album entitled The Music of what happens.
